Matthew grew up around the Great Lakes in South-Western Ontario began his pursuit of photography under the guidance of his grandfather, developing black and white film in his basement darkroom.

After a few years of working in photojournalism and living in the Rockies he found his way to Revelstoke in 2010 and transitioned to nature and adventure photography.

His photos are often planned well in advance and taken in the final seconds of daylight or just before dawn. He hopes to bring the viewer into the moment, giving them a feeling of being in the scene, and leaving them asking ‘how?’.

He is currently based in Revelstoke, BC.
