Maggie Lynch was born in Ontario, with an Irish-influenced upbringing. As soon as she saw the slippery mountains on a family trip to BC, she knew this is where she was meant to be. After making a large macrame back-drop for a friend’s wedding in Fernie, Maggie became enthralled in the craft, and soon was intrigued by the process of dip-dying fibres. After countless hours of trial & error, Maggie has figured out the science & technique for making unique, one of a kind pieces of this rare & exciting form of art.
As the creator of Slippery Mountain Macrame, Maggie takes in all that’s around her this beautiful valley for inspiration. Her work tends to be on the big, bold & vibrant side, but she also enjoys making neutral, subtle and abstract pieces. No matter the outcomes, each piece reflects her passion for nature, self expression and reflection.
